Scouting Bio for Sal and Barbara Poidomani

Sal and Barbara have been running Family Camp at TMR for 16 years.  Often considered the host and hostess of the reservation, they are known throughout the Region as the most accommodating of camp leaders.

Sal started his Scouting career in Brooklyn in the late 1950’s with Troop 265 of which he is still a registered member.  He has been coming to TMR for 41 years.  Sal has been on staff at TMR since 1964 and has served in just about all positions from CIT to Camp Director.  His achievements and honors include Eagle Scout, the Vigil Honor from Shu Shu Ga Lodge (1965), Woodbadge, the Silver Beaver, National Camp School as both student and instructor, and many other District and Council awards and recognition.  Sal was appointed to the GNYC Camping Committee in the fall of 2000 and is on the Program Sub-committee.

Sal has just recently retired from being an administrator and teacher with the Roman Catholic High School of Philadelphia after many years.  Not one to rest, Sal in June of 2004 became the Director of Camping and Properties for the Cradle of Liberty Council, BSA.  Sal now oversees several Boy Scout Camps in the Philadelphia area.  Because of this, for the first time in years Sal is not the Director of Family Camp. But never fear, Barbara after years as the Family Camp Program Director, has stepped up to the Camp Director job. Good luck Barb!

Sal is the current FOTMR Executive VP.  Sal and Barbara are the proud parents of two children.
