Scouting Bio for our President Joe Tosto

Joe first joined the Scouts in Brooklyn in the mid-1970’s. He achieved the rank of Life Scout.  Joe’s first year at TMR was 1979 at Kunatah.  He would also camp at Keowa.  He joined the staff in 1983 at Keowa.  Joe would go on to serve on staff through 1987.  He served on the Waterfront and as Dinning Hall Steward.  After college Joe served for a time as a Scoutmaster of his old Brooklyn troop and in the IT department at GNYC.  For the past several years Joe as been the Troop 170 Committee Chairman.  Joe most recently completed National Camping School for Camp Visitations in 2005.  In the fall of 1999 he completed Scoutmaster Fundamentals training and earned the Scouters Training Award.  He successfully completed Woodbadge (course NEII-114) in 1999, and completed his ticket and received his beads in 2002.  He is currently on the GNYC Camp Inspection team and for several years helped staff the Eastern District Merit Badge Fair in The Bronx.  On June 1, 2007, Joe became FoTMR's 2nd President ever and has committed to this organizations continued success into its second decade.  After many years at HP, Joe is an account manager responsible for several very large HP clients. He currently resides in Manhattan with his wife and daughter.
