Scouting Bio for our Newsletter Editor Robert Ponzo Rob has been an active Scout and Scouter for years, starting as a Cub Scout. He is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of Shu Shu Ga Lodge. He served as Lodge Chief as a youth and has been an Associate Lodge Advisor for eight years. Rob was a Scoutmaster in Brooklyn for ten years and on the old GNYC Camping Committee for sixteen years. He received the District Award of Merit and then went on to become the youngest Silver Beaver recipient in Brooklyn. Rob has also completed Woodbadge. Campmaster Coordinator at Camp Alpine 1979-87. He was a founding member of the NOAC Video crew. He created three TMR promotional videos including the current one. Rob served as the TMR River Rally Chairman in the 1980’s, and served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for the GNYC JLTC. He has been a Brooklyn Council Member at Large for 15 years and a staffman and volunteer at TMR for over 20 years. Currently Rob is member of the Troop Committee of Troop 237 in Brooklyn. Rob is also the FOTMR Technology Chairman. He is married and has two children. Rob is the IT manager for a large Paper Company. |
