Scouting Bio for one of our Members-at-Large Anthony Pinnavaia Anthony joined Scouting in 1992 with Pack 45 in Brooklyn. He joined Troop 45, Brooklyn in 1994 having earned the Arrow of Light. He would go on to earn 36 Merit Badges and became an Eagle Scout in 1998. He is currently an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 237, Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. In 1997 he was inducted into Shu-Shu-Gah Lodge, Order of the Arrow. Since 1997 Anthony has involved in many lodge committees, including Shows, Unit Service, and serving as the Chairman of the Publications Committee for 5 years, an office he holds today. From 1999-2001, Anthony served as the Shu-Shu-Gah Lodge Secretary/Treasurer. He is also one the Associate Webmasters for their lodge website, www.shushugah.org. He attended NOAC in 1998 and 2000. In 1999, Anthony completed the Order of the Arrow’s National Leadership Seminar and was presented the Silver Heron Award by Shu-Shu-Gah. In May of 2000, Shu-Shu-Gah elevated Anthony to the Vigil Honor. Anthony started his camp staff career in 1997 at Rock Hill Scout Reservation, run by the Hudson Liberty Council, New Jersey. He served as a CIT in 1997 and 1998 and as an Archery Instructor in 1999. In 2000 he joined the staff at Camp Aquehonga serving as a Field Sports Senior Instructor. In 2001 he was a Program Commissioner at Aquehonga and will return to that position in 2002. Anthony completed National Camp School for Camp Commissioner in 2001, and has been asked to serve on National Camp School Staff. Anthony is one of the Members-at-Large for the Friends of Ten Mile River. Anthony has recently graduated St. John’s University where he is pursuing a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business. |
